Portrait in magenta and blue; bright and faded

Editing this picture and recalling well the letter I was reading then, I have had sad thoughts and intimations refuting my favourite Wordsworth’s verses (those about “the splendor in the grass…”) – since I realize I will always grieve, and never find strength nor consolation in what remains behind; neither in the primal sympathy –which is no more–, nor in the faith –that dies with absence.
